Museum of Life (Museu da Vida): your host

As a centre for the integration of science, history, and society, Museu da Vida (Museum of Life) aims at consciously and creatively conveying information on health, science, and technology through interactive exhibits, experiments, multimedia, science performances, and educational activities.

As both a project created and developed by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) and a department of the House of Oswaldo Cruz, the Museum has unique characteristics reflecting the institution’s culture, mission, and social commitment. Its central themes are life, health, and human influence on life and the environment.

House of Oswaldo Cruz

One of the FIOCRUZ units, House of Oswaldo Cruz (Casa de Oswaldo Cruz) develops research activities and undergraduate courses in the history, sociology, and philosophy of science and public health. The House is also responsible for preserving FIOCRUZ´s architectural heritage and promoting cultural events.

The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ)

As one of Latin America’s leading institutions in Health Science and Technology and linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Health, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation combines research, technological development, production of immunobiologicals and medicines, human resources development, quality control of products consumed by the Brazilian population, provision of health services, and information and communications in Health and Science.
